Introduction to group and Aims

Small keys unlock large doors

Aim
To develop a learning environment in which all children are happy, feel valued and achieve their full potential.

The learning environment consists of :

Physical space
Social interaction
Emotional wellbeing

Effective Learning Environment Group
The group focus has been to look at provision for VAK learners within the school environment.

V — Place prompts, displays,
visual timetables.

A— Music to enhance learning.

K— Brain gym, peer massage and movement and learning. Role play

During the 2 year project the group has researched

Accelerated Learning Principles.
Environments in other schools.
The impact of music and movement.
Views of children and their perspectives of what helps them learn.
The role of display as a tool for learning

Effective Learning Environment Group

As a result of this research we have produced:

An audit pack—consisting of VAK questinnaires, pupil questionnaires and a series of activities to gain the views of pupils’ perspectives of their environment.
CDs with music for different purposes
Brain Gym booklet
DVD
