The Network formed in September 2002 from a self elected group of 12 schools. It includes primary, infant and junior schools ranging in size from around 180-400 children, meeting the needs of children from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. The Network recognised that all 12 schools were at different stages of development and that every school had different areas of expertise to offer the group. It has had a clear teaching and learning focus with the desire to share and promote good practice. The Network schools worked together in three groups developing areas of Creative Learning, Thinking Skills and the Learning Environment. |

These strategies were supported by: • Conferences for all teachers. • Conferences for all teaching assistants. • Visits between schools. • Lead Teachers development.
Network funding was used to purchase interactive whiteboards and by the Year 2006 all classes in each of the schools had interactive whiteboards. The Network has formed a close-knit community and has welcomed new Headteachers since its inception. In celebration of their work they have produced an inter-school DVD and have a website to support further professional development. Since cessation of network funding we have re-focussed as a group on further development in ICT, our priorities over the next two years being:
• Achievement of the ICT Mark.
• Trialing new ICT products e.g. Activote Pods. • Use of digital media.
We are also continuing with: • Gifted and talented maths days at both Key Stages. • Gifted and talented music days for KS2. • Music festival for KS1 • Promoting pupil voices |
